With all the different types of storage solutions offered today, moving storage is fast proving to be one of the most practical and convenient alternatives. These types of moving storage services offer you a way to transport your personal items to a storage facility and can be seen as a sort of middle ground between traditional storage options and self storage solutions.
Most of these moving storage options function on a "drop and collect" basis. The process typically involves choosing the size and type of unit that is appropriate for your needs and the moving storage provider will then deliver a mobile container to the location that you specify. You can then either pack up your items into the storage container yourself or you can arrange to have the provider do the packing for you. After that, you then lock the container and arrange for a pickup with the storage service provider. The company will then pickup the container at the prearranged time and bring it to their storage area.
Some companies will offer you a storage container that is assigned to your for your sole usage, while other companies will merely provide you with a container for transport and then unpack the contents and store it in their storage facilities. When you need to have access to your items, you will have to get in touch with the storage service provider and arrange for a time when you can do so. All you need to do when you need your goods back is to let the provider know and arrange a drop off time, at which time you can unpack your container.
While this method of moving storage undoubtedly helps you avoid a lot of the fuss and bother of transporting your various items to another location and unpacking them, one of the main disadvantages to these types of solutions is that many storage providers will not allow you unlimited access to your items whenever you choose. With some companies, you will have to make arrangements for when you can gain access to your storage container well in advance. Before signing up with any moving storage provider therefore, make sure that you read through and understand all of the terms and conditions pertaining to their use. In some cases, some moving storage companies may even require you to pay an additional fee if you want them to pull your container out of their storage facility and gain access to your items.
