Every now and then, we come across a worried customer who thinks that their granite worktop has been stained from hard water build-up. Sound familiar? Don’t sweat. Not only can we assure you that it is not a stain; we can show you how to get rid of it.
Over a period of time, water that has gathered in areas of your granite worktop , like around faucets, can cause a white, scaly residue. While this may be ugly to look at, you needn’t worry too much, as it is very quickly and easily removed. It is not a stain.
In order to clean the hard water build up, you should use a razor blade. Tip the razor blade at a slight angle and scrape over the build up area. For any finer residue that lingers, rub over the area with a “000″ (or finer lot) of steel wool, and that is all there is to it.
This entire process should only take a couple minutes, and will get your granite countertop looking as good as new.
