Self storage has helped both the provider and the customer. The former benefited because here was new business model in home transportation which afforded good business on account of being able to offer attractive services to the clients. The clients could now breathe easy because with self storage, all the troubles of moving from one place to another were reduced considerably. How could this become reality? By providing smaller sized containers which could fit in a customers driveway or parking lot, the providers got rid of the problem of space and the associated road blocks that a big container caused in a neighborhood. Small size of the self storage containers meant that providers could place the containers for a longer duration as the customer wanted in his driveway to load in his own time. A relaxed time schedule meant lesser headaches for the provider and lesser anxiety for the customer. This flexibility gave the client time to hunt for a new house at the new place, clean it up and then prepare to receive the belongings. What about no sure address for a month or two? These warehouses are designed not only against the vagaries of nature but also against theft.
Self storage also means scalability of the containers, and the different sizes for different type of houses ensured that the need was matched by the size resulting in savings for the client. This flexibility had not been available previously with traditional packers who had standard sized trucks. Scalability also meant that clients could now segregate one type of belongings in one container and other type of items in yet another container. The flexibility afforded by having different sizes of containers meant that providers could now offer affordable package deals to suit every type of wallet. This financial flexibility meant that more business could then be generated by the entrepreneur.
